Tips. Please. For serious.

Post  Neo_182 on Tue Feb 21, 2012 4:18 am

Alright. I consider myself a tidy guy.
Office / Room are very clean.

But for some reason or another i cannot seem to keep my detolfs dust free.
I don't smoke. And my toys are out of direct sunlight. I just...don't get it.

Anyone got any tips for getting the nasties away from my awesome shit?

I tried putting masking tape around my detolf in my office. Didn't really work either.
Looks like crap now too. I have to clean that shit off. I just can't find time.

Try the Swifter dusters, they pick up the dust easily and you can get into tough places with no problem.

A humidifier sounds like the best option and if you have a carpet and pets that contributes a lot to it. its just how it is, man. Its part of nature. I use compressed air for my collection to keep the dust off and once a month I clean everything, but I love doing the relocating.

For a really quick cleaning i use a can of compressed air.
For a normal cleaning I use the swiffer dusters.

Swiffer dusters are the way to go. My detolfs get crazy dusty even though I vacuum weekly.

these are all Tips. For Serious.

There is no magic appliance that will solve all of your problems. Though you can get a cleaning fairy, they do a great job at it. Its called "marriage" or "a maid", both cost and it takes time to find one that suits you. best of luck. For Realsies. Smile

Hey thanks for all the tips guys!

I forgot about this thread been busy hehe.

I have an air purifier sitting right beside my toys. So that helps a little bit.
I guess because my office is a high traffic area and has carpet its bound to get caught in the corner. Neutral

You should also get a dust-resisting glass cleaner like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G8224-Clarity-Cleaner-Trigger/dp/B006FUT09G

If you are using something like a Detolf:

  • take everything off the shelves.
  • clean the case inside and out with the dust repellent glass cleaner
  • dust of your figures and put them back on the shelves.
  • dust the case daily with a swiffer duster or microfiber cloth
  • dust the outside of the case with the glass cleaner once a week.
