Roller Coasters

Post  ontheDL on Thu Aug 30, 2012 3:48 am

Just got back from spending the last 2 days at cedar point. Wow. What a fucking blast. Besides going to great america here in Illinois last year, I haven't been to an amusement park in over 10 years. Started getting really dizzy from coasters and dramamine never helped. Did a little searching and found that bonine is much more effective for preventing motion sickness. Well...It definitely worked. I've renewed my childhood love for roller coasters.

Anyway, back to cedar point...Holy shit. Some of the coasters there are just fucking insane. Top thrill dragster was shocking. 0-120 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Millennium force was nuts too. 310 foot drop. Not even halfway to the top -

What're everyone else's favorites!?

awesome, man.

We have the Express here in seoul. It has the steepest drop for a wooden roller coaster and it creaks a lot. Its mad fun, but kinda scary. I can only imagine if I get on one of those you posted, I'd die.

I jus went to Disneyland the past two nights since I have an annual pass w/ my girl. Altho they don't have crazy coasters I still enjoy the small rides they offer. I went on Tower of Terror for the first time last night. I do enjoy coasters but I think rides like Supremescream at Knotts or TOT at Disneyland are kinda pointless cus all you experience is that gut-wrenching drop feeling. I much rather enjoy the thrill that true coasters offer like speed, loops, drops, etc of a coaster. The scariest ride i've been on was Goliath at Magic Mountain. I almost blacked out at the corkscrew near the end haha. I needed two damn breaths to scream all the way down the first drop too! Never will I go on that ride again.

Top thrill dragster was definitely that kind of ride. Pants-shitting crazy. But FUN. My gf and I both had the giggles afterwards...It was just so nuts.

Of course the video comes nowhere close to actually being on it and feeling the speed.
