These Tamiya spray seems to be quite good, do you spray them directly, or do you use some primer/base coat ?

No primer or base coat. I do strip the original paint, so I paint directly on the bare vinyl.

What did you use to strip the original paint?

Hey Slink, I use acetone. That shit is harsh, be sure to wear the right kind of chemical gloves and a mask if possible and definitely work in a ventilated area. Don't wanna be breathing in that nasty stuff or letting it soak thru your skin and going into your blood stream! Shocked

What paints do you use on your custom? IE: your frozn Jack. Home Depot was able to do a perfect color match for paint but I had to use this crappy aerosol converter to use it as spray paint and the finish wasn't nice at all. It came out very blotchy...

Thanks cankle,

As for the paint I used for the frozn jack I'm not sure but I had it mixed at a car paint store (space age in AZ). They mixed the color and put it into a spray can. The white around the eyes to mimic the fb squadts is just regular airbrush paint. As you can tell I'm no paint expert. I just do a lot of experimenting and just go with what I like.

Nees to find somewhere around my area that can do the same. Was it expensive to color match and convert to spray can?

It wasn't to bad. To mix the paint it was like $20 and $5 to can it but they give you the extra paint that was mixed, so it's only $5 to can it each time until you run out of paint.

That's not bad at all. I only 1 auto shop who was willing to do it but they wanted to charge an arm and a leg for one color matched spray can of paint.

This thread makes me want to try my hand at customs, but sadly I have no art skill.

Also, the pouches on the vest look pretty sweet. cyclops
